At yoga camp we strive to nourish each camper in body, mind and spirit. We shop every Saturday at the Forest Hill Farmer’s Market and also at Farm to Family so each week we have the freshest most nutrient dense food in our diet. We look for gluten free, dairy free vegetarian dishes that are packed with nutrients to fuel our active, growing bodies. We have a saying after 7 years of yoga camp – we don’t have picky eaters, we have adventurous eaters!
This is a sample of what a week at Yoga with Nitya Summer Camp is like:
Monday:
Lunch – Gluten Free (GF) pasta with tomato sauce and a fresh salad with homemade tahini dressing
Snack – Rice cakes with fresh ground nut butter and local fruit
Tuesday:
Lunch – Brown rice and seasoned black beans with local corn on the cob
Snack – Homemade hummus with homemade GF crackers and sliced veggies
Wednesday:
Lunch – GF Sesame noodles, miso soup and a fresh salad with homemade tahini dressing
Snack – Rice cakes with fresh ground nut butter and local fruit
Thursday:
Lunch – Stir fried veggies with local tofu on a bed of brown rice
Snack – Homemade watermelon fruit pops with GF sweet bread (thanks, Miss Nalini!)
Friday:
Cheese Quesadilla with refried beans, local tortilla chips and homemade salsa
Snack – Homemade granola bars with local fruit
